Barry had now added the portrait of the Prince of Wales to his painting The Distribution of Premiums in the Society of Arts [img] in the Great Room of the Society; he writes to say the series of six pictures The Progress of Human Culture, started in 1777, is now complete.

M.r Barry presents his respectful Compts Compliments to the Right Hon.bleHonourable the President,1 Vice Presidents & the rest of the Noblemen & Gentlemen of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts &c & is extremely happy it is now in his power to inform them that the Series of pictures in their great Room was finished on Thursday last.2
